Christmas Ornaments, Pepsi Clock, and More!

As I'm keeping on with the decluttering for 2012, these are the items I have chosen to discard in the last thirteen days:

Day 16 - Monday January 16, 2012
A few Christmas ornaments I no longer use

Day 17 - Tuesday January 17, 2012
A historical visitors guide

Day 18 - Wednesday January 18, 2012
A few empty, unused boxes

Day 19 - Thursday January 19, 2012
A pair of socks

Day 20 - Friday January 20, 2012
A top that isn't quite right for my body type

Day 21 - Saturday January 21, 2012
A bunch of pens that don't work

Day 22 - Sunday January 22, 2012
A Pepsi clock that no longer works

Day 23 - Monday January 23, 2012
Some old stale candy I found in a box

Day 24 - Tuesday January 24, 2012
Paper clutter

Day 25 - Wednesday January 25, 2012
Junk-drawer junk

Day 26 - Thursday January 26, 2012
Dead batteries. These went into the "Dead Battery" container. When it's full it will be given to the Battery Recycle Center in my community.

Day 27 - Friday January 27, 2012
House key. It's useless since I have a new lock.

Day 28 - Saturday January 28, 2012
Cassette tapes and floppy disks

Getting it all out of my house. It all adds up!!!!

Day 5 - Calendar

What can a person do with a calendar from a previous year? Throw it away! I ended up with two of these in 2011, and this one was never opened.

Day 3 - Nail Polish Kit

I grabbed this French Manicure Set from the medicine cabinet to throw into the trash. It has gotten too old and gunky to use anymore.

Day 358 - Pens

Before Santa filled stockings, I threw away a lot of pens that have passed their prime.

Day 357 - Plastic Bags

I have kept lots of plastic bags that I thought I would use again at some point, for some reason. Some of them are almost keepsakes, for instance bags I got while shopping on trips. However, there is no reason to keep them, so they are going into the trash. Ah! Lightening the load is so nice!

Day 353 - Throw Pillow

Today I threw away a throw pillow. Ha! It was getting really stained and grungy, so I tossed it.

Day 352 - Daisy Headband

Today I got rid of a daisy headband. It's one of those things that makes you smile. This one, however, is in need of a new home.

Day 350 - Film

I found five canisters of old film in a box with some Christmas decorations. I guess I was going to take some Christmas pictures one year. Maybe? The dates on the boxes suggest developing the film before November 1993 and February 1994. I think I can safely say I will not be using this film. Instead it will see the inside of a trash barrel.

Day 349 - Christmas Lights

Going through some things in my garage, I found some old Christmas lights that don't work. They are going in the trash.

Day 348 - Dish Drainer

Sometimes things simply lose their usefulness. That was the case with this dish drainer. Since it wasn't being used, it became warped and useless. Time to toss it!

Today I'm throwing some junk in the trash. What is this stuff anyway???

Day 336 - Hangers

A few things, a little here, a little there; it all adds up. No matter what it is, a lot or a little, if I am getting rid of something every day then I am making progress. Today I am throwing away some hangers.

Day 335 - Potpourri and Junk

A baggie of old potpourri that has lost it's fragrance, and a bag of junk are going into the trash today.

Day 320 - Hinges

I found these old rusty hinges in a drawer. Wow! Why do I save these things? Time to get rid of them!

Day 313 - Junk

Today I threw a pile of junk in the trash. It may not seem like much, but it really does add up. It is unbelievable to me how much of this kind of "stuff" I'm finding around in drawers, boxes, and little baskets. I want it all gone, and I must say that I've been doing a pretty okay job over the past ten months.

Day 311 - Jeans

This pair of my son's jeans are rather gross, so they are going in the trash.

Day 310 - Hinges

Several months ago a hinge broke on one of my kitchen cabinets. I replaced them but kept the old hinges. I have to ask myself  "Why???? Why did I keep the old ones?" Nothing like keeping trash, right? Well, I'm keeping them no longer, and into the trash they go.

Today's quote: "One person's trash is another person's treasure."

I'm not so sure these hinges could be considered treasure to anyone, but I like the quote.

Day 292 - Just Junk

Today I'm just getting rid of some junk from a drawer.

Day 284 - Refrigerator Magnets

Today I have decided to clear off my cluttered refrigerator and get rid of several magnets. Please note that some of these were not actually on the refrigerator, but in a box on top of it.

Day 260 - Schnapps

About a decade ago as my aunt and uncle were getting rid of things while preparing to move, my aunt gave me a bottle of Peach Schnapps from her kitchen. I brought it home and put it away in an upper cabinet. I don't think I'm ever going to drink it and so today it became my declutter item.
