Day 333 - Ties

My sons are grown and no longer live at home. I have been given permission to donate their ties. Hooray! Little by little, I'm getting those drawers and closets all cleaned out!

Day 332 - Belts

It is wonderful to be clearing out so much "stuff" and making room in my drawers and closets. Two belts that were lying lifeless in a drawer were my declutter items for today.

Day 331 - Snow Boots

I am happy to say that I will no longer be storing these snow boots in my closet. I haven't worn them in a very long time and have decided I no longer need them.

Day 330 - Shorts

Today the decision was to make a couple of pairs of shorts my declutter items. It feels so good to be removing so many things from my home.

Day 329 - Summer Blazer

This cute little summer blazer is going into the donation box this evening. It doesn't fit quite right and has a button missing.

Day 328 - Giant Coffee Cup

Today I'm getting rid of a giant coffee cup. It's big enough to use as a soup bowl. I like it, but it's one of those odd items that just become in the way after awhile.

Day 327 - T-Shirt

Today I removed a t-shirt from a dresser drawer. It is never worn and is only taking up space. Eventually I hope to have in my home only things that I love, that are useful, and that are needed.

Day 326 - Magazines

Today I'm recycling some Westways magazines that were dated 2007.

Monday, November 21, 2011

Day 325 - Maps

I discovered that I still have some maps from my visit to Washington in 2006. I'll donate these and when I visit Seattle/Tacoma again, I will either buy some new maps, or I will use a map website.

Day 322 - Book

Yet another book has been removed from my book shelves and will be donated. Someone will have a nice story to read.

Day 321 - Chargers

I think these are all phone chargers that belong with phones I no longer own. No need for them anymore, so they are going out the door! I will donate them at the next electronics recycle event in our community. Now if I could only have a Dodge Charger! Woot!

Day 320 - Hinges

I found these old rusty hinges in a drawer. Wow! Why do I save these things? Time to get rid of them!

Day 319 - T-Shirts

Okay, now today I realized that I have clothes in my closet that I actually like, but for some reason I never ever wear them. I did a little "hmmm" and scratched my head. To get rid, or not to get rid of some of my t-shirts? That was the question. I decided these two are on the chopping block. Bye bye t-shirts!

Day 318 - Game Boy

I think I got rid of another one of these awhile back. So, again, I have to say that I'm letting go of a Game Boy.

Day 317 - Books

I cleared a few more books from my book shelves today; some old text books and a Spanish dictionary.

Day 316 - Pikachu

I found this giant Pikachu (did someone say Gazuntight?) taking up space in the garage. Time to donate it.

Day 315 - Necklaces

I have a few necklaces that have gotten "old" looking and are not worn anymore. I decided to get rid of them today.

Day 314 - Daily Devotionals

Today I have decided to donate some of my stack of outdated "Our Daily Bread" devotionals. I will be bringing them to my doctor's office tomorrow morning. Even though they are outdated, the messages are always current and can edify anyone who may be interested to read them.

Day 313 - Junk

Today I threw a pile of junk in the trash. It may not seem like much, but it really does add up. It is unbelievable to me how much of this kind of "stuff" I'm finding around in drawers, boxes, and little baskets. I want it all gone, and I must say that I've been doing a pretty okay job over the past ten months.

Day 312 - Graduation Napkins

My youngest graduated from high school two years ago, which means I won't be needing these graduation napkins.

Day 311 - Jeans

This pair of my son's jeans are rather gross, so they are going in the trash.

Day 310 - Hinges

Several months ago a hinge broke on one of my kitchen cabinets. I replaced them but kept the old hinges. I have to ask myself  "Why???? Why did I keep the old ones?" Nothing like keeping trash, right? Well, I'm keeping them no longer, and into the trash they go.

Today's quote: "One person's trash is another person's treasure."

I'm not so sure these hinges could be considered treasure to anyone, but I like the quote.

Day 309 - Quilt Books

Today I am clearing more books from my book shelves. This time it's a stack of quilt books that I will never miss.

Day 308 - Dresses

Today I decided to let go of two dresses that I made in the 1980s. Do we call these "retro"? Or do we call these "outdated"?

Day 307 - "How To" Books

I am releasing more books into the wild. Well, okay, I'm donating these two "how to" books to the Salvation Army.

Day 306 - Catalog

It's time to recycle, and today I'm recycling a catalog.

Day 305 - Note Cards

Today I'm ridding my stationery stash of some note cards.
